What is it?[editar]
The FSG inaugurated the annual "Fundación Secretariado Gitano Prize" in 2011, with the purpose of offering recognition to those persons or institutions that have developed outstanding work in the defense and support of Roma access to citizenship, in the promotion of the equal treatment and social recognition of the Roma community.
In 2015, the Fundación Secretariado Gitano Awards were renewed including different categories with the aim of highlighting the social, cultural or human work of people, work teams, entities or institutions at the national or international level related to progress in social inclusion and well-being of Roma people, responding to the values and lines of work promoted by the Fundación Secretariado Gitano.
The FSG Prize materialises in a metal box – because boxes are where important things are kept, where photos and objects with emotional value are treasured – featuring a golden plate with the letter “G”, which symbolises the Roma spirit. The prizes are personalised with a quote from the recipient of the award.
