Have a look at your dreams[editar]

"Have a look at your dreams" is a campaign of sensitization by Fundación Secretariado Gitano to fight against the premature drop out of the classrooms of great part of the Roma students. It was launched in October 2013 and continued with different actions throughout 2014.

Most young Roma do not finish high school so their chances of getting a job or aspiring to a better life are reduced. That is why, the goal of this campaign is to raise awareness for them to finish high school and continue studying so they can choose what they want to be in the future, so that they fight, because their personal and professional dreams are fulfilled. The target audience to which the actions are directed are Roma girls and boys from 12 to 16 years old.

"Have a look at your dreams" is a comprehensive campaign, for which actions have been designed on the ground, online communication; events; and audiovisual products, among others.


Casting took place in 21 Spanish cities and 300 young people were present. Of all the applicants, a group of 40 girls and boys were selected to discover what a day in the profession of their dreams is like. They lived a mentoring session thanks to the involvement of ten prestigious companies: Iberdrola, Ford, RTVE, Clarins, Emilio Tuñón's architecture studio, "Amar es para siempre" series, Samur, Dutilh Abogados, Luzi Bombón restaurant And the Cadena Ser programme "A vivir que son dos días".

A concert to spread the campaign

The campaign was launched on February 1st, 2014 with a concert-presentation held at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. It counted with the participation of musicians committed to the education of the Roma community such as Dorantes, Montse Cortés, Antonio Remache and his group, Fraskito and Angela Bautista.
Several artists joined the campaign through video testimonials: Niña Pastori, Pitingo, Tomatito, Josemi Carmona, India Martinez and Alba Flores, and sent messages of encouragement addressed to the more than 150 young Roma high school students who attended the concert coming from all Spain.


The campaign has the motto "With studies, your dreams come true". In different actions and pieces the motto that identifies all the campaigns of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano on education: "Roma with studies, Roma with future".

Other Objectives

The campaign also has other objectives such as involving the public administrations to promote policies and socio-educational measures that help the disadvantaged situation of the Roma community; Call the attention of the whole educational community and raise awareness of the rest of society. This campaign is funded by the Fight Against Discrimination Operational Programme of the European Social Fund and the IRPF (Personal Income Tax) programme "Other purposes of social interest" of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.
