In 2011, the Prize was awarded to Teresa San Román in recognition of her long trajectory in “deepening our understanding, not merely theoretical but especially practical, of the Roma community through her research, publications and thinking”. The prize, awarded in the form of a metal box by the President of the FSG, Pedro Puente, included a quote from one of the anthropologist’s articles dedicated to the Roma.
Teresa San Román thanked the FSG for the prize in front of an assembly that paid tribute to the work of the anthropologist with a sincere ovation.Teresa San Román receives the FSG Prize from the hands of Pedro Puente, President of the FSG.
