First Meeting of the Pilot Project of Inclusion Pathways for people receiving the Minimum Income [editar]

The headquarters of Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) hosted the First Meeting of the Inclusion Pathways Project for beneficiaries of the Minimum Income (IMV for its acronym in Spanish), on the 22nd and 23rd of March, with an opening speech by Milagros Paniagua San Martin, Secretary General of Objectives and Policies of Inclusion and Social Welfare of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations and Isidro Rodriguez Hernández, General Director of FSG.

This innovative project on Inclusion Pathways for beneficiaries of the Minimum Income (IMV) aims to evaluate the impact of educational inclusion pathways with Roma children and youngsters and their families.

The project and the professional teams that will implement it, were presented during the meeting, addressing the intervention methodology, the phases of implementation, the work instruments and the coordination and management mechanisms, including the project's impact assessment methodology.

Together with the individual and family projects of social inclusion, these educational pathways will lead to a relevant improvement in the support available for the vulnerable population and their environment, which will lead to an increase and improvement of both the educational competences and the social situation of the family. In the end, this will also improve the academic results of the Roma people and reduce the risk of social exclusion.

The project comprises two types of services and an educational pathway:

1. Social and personal support service: aimed at all participants or cohabitation units.
2. Technological accessibility service: it focuses on the acquirement of digital skills, their improvement, prevention and safety, as well as including an internet access point (connectivity) in the offices of the service available to the beneficiaries.
3. The Educational Pathway is addressed to children and youngsters of the cohabitation units who are attending compulsory education ("primary education" and "ESO").

The programme is open to at least 500 students, together with their families/cohabitation units, from 6 different towns and cities in Spain.

This initiative is funded by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations through the Nextgeneration Funds.
