Since its launch, the Acceder employment and training programme has received numerous awards and mentions. These are some of the most relevant.

  • The Empleando Digital innovation programme receives the ‘Digital Skills Awards Spain 2020’ awarded by the Association of Businesses in the Technological Digital Industry Sector in Spain
  • The Empleando Digital innovation project, winner of the prestigious European VET Excellence Awards. 2019
  • Selected as a Good Practice among the ‘Roma Stories from across the EU’ accompanying the European Commission's Communication ‘Progress in the Implementation of National Strategies for Roma Inclusion’ and ‘Proposal for a Council Recommendation on effective measures for the integration of Roma in Member States’. European Commission, 2013.
  • Selected as a Good Practice in social inclusion, along with the other operators of the ‘Multi-regional Operational Programme to Combat Discrimination’, by the European Commission in the presentation of its Social Investment Package, European Commission, 2013.
  • In October 2012, the Council of Europe recognised, together with the Promociona educational support programme, as examples of ‘good practices’ in working with the Roma population, ‘not only for their high-quality content but also for their ability to give visibility and to influence national policies'.
  • In December 2011, it obtained authorisation to operate as an employment agency throughout Spain, granted by the Ministry of Labour through the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), which would enable the FSG to bring its services closer to the Roma population to help them access the labour market.
  • The Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights, Thomas Hammarberg, highlights Acceder as a ‘good practice’ for improving social inclusion for the Roma population. 2011
  • In 2007, it was chosen as a model of good practice and recommended for transfer to Central and Eastern European countries by the European Commission's High Level Group on the Social and Labour Market Integration of Ethnic Minorities, made up of 10 independent experts who advise directly to the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.
  • Selected by the European Commission as a ‘Good Practice in European Social Inclusion Plans’, together with the other operators of the Operational Programme to Combat Discrimination at the Seminar on Transferability to other European Union countries, ‘Peer Review October 2007’.
  • Designated as ‘Good Practice’ in Spain's National Social Inclusion Plan 2006-2008, together with the other operators.
  • Rated GOOD in the DUBAI International Award for Good Practices to Improve Living Conditions, organised by the United Nations, UN HABITAT - in 2006.
  • Selected and identified by the European Social Fund in 2005 as an ‘Example of Good Practice’ in the Update of the Mid-Term Evaluation of the Multi-regional Operational Programme to Combat Discrimination, carried out by an independent company. For the development of the Social Awareness Campaign ‘Get to know them before you judge them’.
  • Selected as BEST in the DUBAI International Award for Good Practices to Improve Living Conditions, organised by the United Nations, UN HABITAT - in 2004.

The Promociona programme, which provides educational support and guidance for young Roma and their families and has been run by the Fundación Secretariado Gitano since 2009, has been awarded the 2016 National Education Prize in the category of Entities for Educational Promotion. National prizes for projects on the retention or inclusion into the education system of students without basic qualifications. This important award is granted by the Secretary of State for Education, Vocational Training and Universities of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

In 2022, we received the Award for Best Social Initiative for the programme ‘Promociona. For the educational success of Roma students’. In the ‘Break the Circle’ awards from the High Commissioner against Child Poverty.

  • Rated ‘Promising’ in the United Nations International Good Practices Competition. Ministry of Development, Spain, 2012.
  • Rated ‘GOOD’ in the United Nations World Habitat Awards. Model of Good Practices for the improvement of living conditions, 2006.
  • The Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) in Talavera de la Reina receives the 2020 Menina Award from the Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha.
  • Celia Gabarri, coordinator of FSG Palencia, receives the 2020 Meninas Award in Palencia.
  • In 2020, the Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha recognised Calí Cortes Muñoz, an expert from the programme, for her work in promoting the inclusion and empowerment of Roma women.
  • The Accenture Foundation held its 2019 Accenture Journalism Awards and recognised the Cali Programme as a good initiative that reduces inequality and promotes employability.
  • In 2019, the UGT Córdoba trade union awarded the Calí Programme its ‘Working for Equality’ recognition.
  • The ‘Santo Ángel’ association in Jerez de la Frontera recognised the programme on 8 June 2019. The ceremony took place at the Alcázar de Jerez.

  • The Calí programme, selected in 2018 as a good practice for incorporating a gender perspective into the European Social Fund's operational programmes in Spain
