Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) presented the results of the Acceder Programme at its headquarters in Seville at an event attended by prominent representatives of the European Commission, such as Mª Luisa Cabral, Director of Quality Jobs, Working Conditions and Social Dialogue at the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs, and Inclusion, and Ana Sanabria Celdran, head of the European Social Fund Plus Program at the ESF Spain-Malta Unit. Also in attendance were Ángel Frontelo, deputy director general of the European Social Fund Managing Authority (UAFSE), and Gerardo Fernández-Gavilanes Díez, secretary general of European Financing at the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance, and European Funds of the Regional Government of Andalusia.

The visit was part of the Social Inclusion, Child Guarantee and Fight against Poverty Programme, through the Acceder training and employment programme, endorsed and co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). This programme promotes the incorporation of the Roma population into the labor market as a means of social inclusion, offering a comprehensive response to the situation of exclusion from employment.

During the day, the FSG presented the results of its various initiatives, with the participation of beneficiaries of the programmes Acceder Joven (Young Acceder), Acceder Inclusion, Learning by Doing, and Formatéate, who shared their experiences and achievements.

Acceder, recognized as a European Good Practice, has established itself as a benchmark model in the design of public policies for employment and social protection aimed at the most vulnerable groups. The results presented show that the programme is meeting its objectives and contributing to social and institutional changes that favor the fight against discrimination against the Roma population. This demonstrates that, with adequate resources and adapted policies, it is possible to move towards a more egalitarian society.
