Cultural promotion [editar]
The Roma community and its culture are one of the four great pillars that have shaped and enriched Spanish culture—along with Christian, Arab, and Jewish cultures—in art, literature, language, commerce, music, and so on. For this reason, it is essential that we celebrate and recognize the existence of Roma culture and its contribution to Spanish culture.

The imprint of Roma culture on everyone's culture
Spanish society is a mosaic of historical and cultural realities with their own unique characteristics, languages, and peoples. In this multicultural context, it is essential to raise awareness that the Roma reality in Spain has a history spanning six centuries and is highly diverse. Therefore, the main objective of the FSG in developing its cultural promotion activities is to increase the visibility and awareness of Roma culture and improve the image of the Roma, thereby combating the stereotypes and prejudices that still persist toward it.
Our work in culture
At the Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG), we understand that developing actions around Roma culture is essential to eliminating stereotypes and fostering a positive presence and cultural production within the Roma community, achieving its full integration and recognition as a unique individual.
Therefore, we promote awareness of Roma culture through a wide range of activities and projects, using this knowledge as an integrating element to convey positive images and disseminate its contributions, while also highlighting the situations of Roma culture and community in different areas. This helps both the Roma and non-Roma communities gain a deeper understanding of this culture and appreciate it. We also promote awareness of the Roma cultural elements that exist in Spanish traditions. Spain is an example not only of disagreements but also of coexistence, and neither should be forgotten.
