We close the second year of the Más Empleo Projects with "la Caixa" Foundation, with excellent results [editar]
Fundación Secretariado Gitano has developed in 2025 six projects of the ‘Más Empleo’ (More Employment) Project of the "la Caixa" Foundation, within the framework of the ESF+, in six Spanish locations
Since mid-2024, Fundación Secretariado Gitano has been developing six projects under the ‘Más Empleo’ scheme of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation within the framework of the ESF+, projects aimed at implementing measures that favour the active inclusion of people at risk and/or in situations of social exclusion, in 6 Spanish localities. Until the arrival of this programme, Fundación Secretariado Gitano was not intervening in these localities, which have a high percentage of vulnerable Roma population who lacked employment and training resources to improve their situation.
In these projects, we create pathways for social and labour inclusion for Roma people in vulnerable situations, aiming to improve their employability. Among other measures, we provide training in roles and sectors with high recruitment rates.
Within these pathways of socio-labour inclusion, in addition to achieving and improving basic and transversal skills through group sessions and individual guidance, we develop a line of digitalisation and development of technological skills. This line of work is integrated into the employment pathways with the aim of reducing the digital divide of programme participants, in the form of group trainings adapted to the levels of the participants.
The work during 2024 focused on dissemination and recruitment actions, contact with companies to strengthen the programme in the territory and the development of the pathways. In 2025, the results of this intervention have been reaped, exceeding the proposed objectives: 954 participants (57% women), 487 people trained (55% women), 397 have been employed (56% women).
Throughout 2025, a greater number of trainings adapted to the needs of the labour market of the territories have been carried out, with a total of 27 professional courses carried out in different profiles, from cleaning and maintenance of spaces to cash and replacement, or customer service work.
At the beginning of October, the "la Caixa" Foundation, organised in Madrid a face-to-face training session for all the professionals of the ‘Más Empleo’ teams. That session took stock of the 2024 results, and covered the following project milestones and targets, as well as key processes and inter-entity contact. This training session was attended by colleagues from all the ‘Más Empleo’ projects managed by FSG.
We are committed to building on these excellent results in 2026, driven by the dedication and expertise of the six More Employment teams at FSG.
