FSG Innovación

The Python Programming course promoted by Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG), in collaboration with the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) and funded by Accenture as part of the Training for a Digital Future project, is progressing successfully. The programme, based on university micro-credentials, demonstrates the potential of virtual training and comprehensive support to promote technological qualifications.

After successfully completing initial levels on Python programming and data structures and libraries (300 hours), the group has begun Level B1. Data Projects and Applications (150 hours), thus consolidating their progress towards an increasingly specialised technical qualification aligned with the demands of the technology sector.

A solid group that demonstrates the potential of virtual training

Beyond the technical knowledge acquired, we would like to highlight the solid group of students formed over the past few months. Experience is showing that virtual training is an effective and accessible model, capable of promoting access to advanced technological qualifications from anywhere in the country and overcoming the traditional barriers to access to specialised training, in which Roma are overrepresented.

The geographical diversity of the students has not only not been an obstacle, but has become a strength, enriching the learning experience. We have participants from eight Spanish cities.

Excellent collaboration with the UOC

We would like to highlight the excellent collaboration we have with the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), which is developing rigorous, accessible and high-quality teaching. Continuous monitoring of students and ongoing coordination with the FSG team are key factors in the successful delivery of the course.

The pathway is also developed under the university micro-credentials system, a model promoted by the European Union that recognises and accredits professional skills acquired through specialised training. Each level completed allows students to obtain a digital micro-credential, which certifies the knowledge and skills developed and helps to strengthen their professional profile.

This alliance demonstrates that collaboration between social entities and the university sector is key to generating real opportunities for access to advanced technological training, connecting talent with knowledge and transforming opportunities into concrete results.

Comprehensive support that makes a difference

The group's success can also be explained by the methodological approach we have developed at FSG, based on comprehensive and personalised support.

Students receive ongoing support from a technical team specialising in employment guidance, job intermediation and project coordination, which works in a fully coordinated manner to offer academic and motivational support and access to employment.

This working model not only promotes the achievement of educational goals, but also boosts students' confidence and multiplies their opportunities for entering a sector with high demand for qualified profiles.
