Representatives from FSG participated in a floral tribute that is held every year in memory of the Roma people murdered and mistreated by their ethnic status during the Nazi regime.
As every July, the assembly hall Ernest Lluch (Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality) has hosted the Memorial to commemorate the Samudaripen (Roma Genocide), organised by the Ministry and in collaboration with the State Council for the Roma People and the Roma Culture Institute.

This commemoration acknowledges the suffering of the Roma people and the history of persecution that have suffered, which has been very poorly disseminated.
Political representatives such as the Secretary of State for Health, Social Services and Equality, Mario Garcés, and Jaime Rosell, from the Ministry of Justice, attended the event and shared tribune with representatives from the Roma associative movement, such as Juan de Dios Ramírez Heredia , ex MEP and a reference for Roma people, and the vice-president from the State Council for the Roma People, Antonio Vázquez.

After the speeches in tribute to the victims, a floral offering was made in which several members of the FSG took part. Isidro Rodríguez, general director of the FSG, was one of the persons who made the offering together with other participating entities. While the flowers of the colours of the Roma flag were placed on the flag itself, the international anthem of the Roma people, Gelem Gelem, was played. .

This memorial should not only be a space to recognise those Roma people who lost their lives because of their ethnic origin, but also to remind the overall society that Antigypsyism and discrimination remain latent in Spain and in Europe.
