Fundación Secretariado Gitano
We work for the progress of the Roma through social promotion, recognition and the defence of the rights of Roma from an intercultural perspective [editar]
Right to education [editar]
6 out of 10 young Roma do not complete compulsory secondary education, a figure that persists for decades. Eliminating failure, school leaving and school segregation of Roma students are some of the most important challenges facing our education system. Guaranteeing the right to education requires public policies that help more and more Roma students to pursue higher education.
At Fundación Secretariado Gitano we have launched the Promociona programme for school guidance and support, which supports some 5 000 students annually.

Employment, the key to social inclusion [editar]
For more than 20 years we have been developing vocational training and employment initiatives as one of the keys to inclusion and social transformation, through programmes and initiatives such as Acceder, Acceder Young, Learning by Doing, Training with a Guarantee, Empleando Digital, Work Integration Social Enterprises or TándEM
We work to increase the incorporation of Roma into the labour market, into quality jobs, reducing inequality indicators and combating discrimination.

We fight against discrimination and antigypsyism [editar]
We work to defend Roma against discrimination and to ensure they enjoy full citizenship, combating the under-reporting of discrimination, promoting the improvement of their social image and demanding the effective application of anti-discrimination laws.

From 2023 we have a new European programme, IgualTrato for the non-discrimination of Roma, which combines actions to raise social awareness, combat discrimination and support potential victims.
We promote equal treatment and opportunities for Roma women [editar]
We aim to increase opportunities for social advancement, equal opportunities and participation for Roma women, combating barriers specific to gender and ethnic origin.

To this end, we work to promote educational success and socio-labour market incorporation, especially for the most vulnerable women, and we advocate for the specificity of Roma women to be incorporated into public policies and for a more diverse and plural image to be made visible.
It is urgent to eradicate slums [editar]
More than 9 000 Roma households still live in substandard housing, without the minimum habitability conditions. The most serious cases affect 2 000 households, some 11 000 people, who live in slums. Despite the progress in living conditions, there are still 270 segregated settlements scattered throughout the country, where families with children live. For this reason, it is essential to demand the right to decent housing for all. European funding is available to eradicate slums, a persistent and discriminatory phenomenon.
