POLITICAL AND INSTITUTIONAL ACTIONS[editar]

A significant part of the international activity of the FSG is the institutional action, understood as a proactive involvement in all initiatives, events, and relevant areas in Europe where issues related to the Roma population and contribute to their progress in key areas. For this purpose the FSG participates in multiple platforms and political and institutional spaces in order to  put the needs of Roma on the political agenda at the highest level, not only denouncing situations that seem unfair but also making proposals to provide possible solutions for stakeholders work.

A dynamic route is through the Coalition for a European policy for the Roma (ERPC - European Roma Policy Coalition), an informal network of major European organizations with extensive experience in the defense of human rights, anti-discrimination and working with Roma (AI, ENAR, ERIO, ERRC, REF, ERGO, OSI, etc.). The Coalition has a very important proactive role in monitoring the decisions of the European Institutions, developing proposals for better coordination and implementation of actions targeting the Roma population to enable more efficient use of all existing instruments and European resources.

As part of the international institutional action, the FSG is part of the Roma Forum of the European Foundation Centre (European Foundation Centre, EFC), an informal working mechanism that aims to give voice on the European stage private entities that invest their resources and work with Roma.

The FSG is also involved in other areas such as the European Platform for Roma Inclusion, the Platform of Fundamental Rights of the European Agency for Fundamental Rights; and participate in the consultation process of the European Commission with civil society to discuss, among other issues, the integration of Roma in the policies of EU enlargement and the future of cohesion policy.

Also developed a large institutional activities both inside and outside of Spain linked to the dissemination and visibility of our activities, presentations at conferences, seminars and other events, but also through the organization of numerous study visits for groups of professionals, technical or politicians who want to know more in detail the approaches and methodologies we work.
