This Portal is a tool to promote health equity amongst different socio-economic groups in the European Union. Here, you can find information on policies and interventions to promote health equity within and between the countries of Europe, via the socio-economic determinants of health.
The Executive Agency for Health and Consumers (formerly the Public Health Executive Agency) was created on 1 January 2005 to support implementation of EU Public Health Programme.
In 2008, the Agency's lifetime was prolonged till 31 December 2015, and the tasks expanded to include actions in the field of consumer protection and training for safer food. The EAHC new mandate includes implementation of EU Health Programme, Consumer Programme and Better Training for Safer Food initiative.
El objetivo del proyecto es disponer de datos fiables y objetivos en lo que respecta a la situación de salud de la población romaní, así como el uso y el acceso a los recursos sanitarios. Esto permitirá la identificación de las necesidades reales y el establecimiento de acciones prioritarias.
The Health and Consumers Directorate-General is pleased to present the Health-EU Portal (the official public health portal of the European Union) and the wide range of information and data on health-related issues and activities at both European and international level. The main objective of this thematic Portal is to provide European citizens with easy access to comprehensive information on Public Health initiatives and programmes at EU level. The portal is intended to help meet EU objectives in the Public Health field, it is an important instrument to positively influence behaviour and promote the steady improvement of public health in the 27 EU Member States.
This programme arises from the project "Health and Roma Community, Analysis of the Situation in Europe" which has received funding from the European Union, in the framework of the Public Health Programme.
