This study analyses the educational situation of Roma students in Spain, comparing it with the data obtained in 2012 and with the situation of the general students population in Spain. The data reflect a harsh, shocking reality.
Educational progress is the main tool for Roma people to access a dignified life and, unfortunately, poverty and social exclusion still hit them hard (the poverty rate among the Roma population is 87.4% and the child poverty rate is 86.8%). Therefore, there is no choice but to reverse this situation with educational advancement and subsequent inclusion into the labour market.
