At the meeting, the minister was presented with the proposals of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano for the future Cultural Rights Plan, including ensuring that the Roma are a priority group within the framework of the Plan, that they are expressly mentioned as the largest minority in our country, as well as the incorporation of the history and culture of the Roma into the curriculum content.
The minister also visited the travelling exhibition ‘600 years of shared history’, which reflects some of the historical moments of the Roma in Spain, such as their arrival in different parts of the peninsula at the beginning of the 15th century, or the Great Round-up of the Roma in 1749, as well as their symbols, values and cultural contributions, designed expressly for this sixth centenary.
In addition, the minister was able to greet the entire FSG management team, as the visit coincided with the meeting of the Broad Management Group, thus getting to know the extent of the FSG's work, both at the state and regional level.
