Fundación Secretariado Gitano launches several actions to help the victims and the people affected by the floods in Valencia
After the damage and heavy losses caused by the floods in Valencia, Fundación Secretariado Gitano launches several actions to alleviate the situation of the affected families.
Fundación Secretariado Gitano wants to show its solidarity with those who have lost family and friends, and we want to support those people who are suffering the consequences of the floods since last 31 October.
FSG’s teams of the Community of Valencia and the State Directorate are working in a coordinated manner to accompany the Roma families most affected by the floods with the following actions:
- Monitoring the consequences of the floods on Roma families: FSG teams are travelling, as far as possible, to the affected areas to assess the scale of the catastrophe and detect urgent needs of the families.
- Direct help line through an emergency fund: in social media and through various contact numbers (0034 636 478 231 / 0034 615 120 923), FSG teams will be available to those families who need it, to offer them economic support through aid cards. In addition, our teams will be on the ground in some of the affected villages and areas to distribute this aid.
Allied and collaborating companies of the FSG programmes have already offered to collaborate with financial contributions.
- Support for the processing of aid: in coordination with the public administrations, we will accompany the participants of our programmes in the processing of the public aid that will be made available as a result of the floods.
