More than 100 young people from all over Spain join the Fundación Secretariado Gitano's TándEM employment and training programme

Fundación Secretariado Gitano will incorporate into its staff professionals trained in the 11 TándEM Training Programmes. It is an initiative financed by the Spanish State Public Employment Service (SEPE) in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan with funding from Next Generation - EU.

Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) welcomes today 125 young people from all over Spain who start their training in 11 Programmes in different specialities: Solar Panels, Gardening, Catering, Building Maintenance, Energy Efficiency, in classroom mode. The specialities in online mode are Administration in NGOs, Communication in Digital Environments and Promotion of Health and Gender Equality.

Sara Giménez, president of FSG, at the official inauguration that took place today at the FSG’s headquarters in Madrid, said: "this training and employment stage is an opportunity for inclusion for a new generation of Roma, who want the same autonomy and equal work opportunities with the aim of achieving a good future". The president of Fundación Secretariado Gitano also told those present that "you are a model of young people who are training and moving forward. Each one of you breaks the negative imaginary that weighs on the Roma people". Giménez also thanked all of the organisation's employment professionals for their work and involvement in this project.

TándEM is a training and employment programme aimed at providing professional training and at facilitating the inclusion of unemployed young people under the age of 30 in the labour market. This initiative consists of theoretical training for three months and nine months of work in FSG’s offices throughout Spain.
