FSG
An app for participants, new equipment and website, a digital skills training plan and other applications have been launched with the aim of advancing in the digitalisation of the organisation and helping to alleviate the digital divide in the Roma community.
In line with the digital transformation strategy of Fundación Secretariado Gitano, the process of modernisation of programmes, processes, channels and the promotion of digital citizenship of the participants of our programmes is being accelerated with the project “Actualíza_TEC, Digital equality for the Roma community", which started in May 2023 thanks to the grant to support the modernisation of third sector organisations from the European Fund for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience, through the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030.
This digital transformation process involves important advances in the digitisation of some of FSG’s services (in employment, education, social inclusion and anti-discrimination). Among the actions already underway are the creation of a mobile app to improve management and communication with programme participants; Digital Classrooms at all our offices in Spain; renewal of staff computers and other equipment; Digital training plan for staff, volunteers and participants; improvement of internal and external communication channels; public access to the documentary collection of our library; cybersecurity project; automation of processes and new internal management tools, new digital marketing tools, improved management of our social and volunteer base; improved interoperability with public administrations
In addition, in a transversal manner and within the framework of this project, a dissemination plan is being developed for the different digitisation actions: pesentations of the Digital Classrooms in all the offices and a communication campaign on the digital transformation actions we are carrying out to fight against the digital divide suffered by a large part of the Roma community.
A national event is also planned to present the actions of this Digitalisation project at the headquarters of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano in Madrid.
On the website: www.gitanos.org/actualiza_tec (only available in Spanish) we will be gathering the most relevant information and news about the project.
Presentation of the Digital Classroom in Zaragoza on 10 November
The main objective of all these actions is to advance in the digitalisation of our methodology of personalised pathways; improving the fluidity of internal management and communication to accelerate the processes of digitalisation of the social inclusion of the Roma population; offering opportunities for participation in more bidirectional systems that improve the quality of communication with the social base; and ensuring that all participants in pathways of our programmes acquire basic digital competences through digital accompaniment in our offices.
“Actualíza_TEC” aims to help alleviate the digital divide suffered by a large part of the Roma community. Digital transformation is an essential part of our organisation to assure that no Roma person is left behind in the framework of digital citizenship rights and equal opportunities.
We launch ACTUALIZA_TEC
The “Actualíza_TEC” project is financed through the call for grants for the modernisation of the Third Sector 2023 of the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the NextGeneration EU Funds of the European Union.
