FSG Participación
The Network of young Roma met online to launch the participation activities that will be implemented in 2022 at the Fundación Secretariado Gitano and to reflect and debate on issues that affect them.
On 22 and 23 April, we launched the activities in which young Roma from the FSG Network of Participation Facilitators took part. Mayte Suárez, Deputy Director General for Participation, Human and Territorial Development of the FSG, spoke at the event -called “#LachoDrom #Reconnection: Equality Values for the exercise of Full Citizenship”- and gave a welcoming speech, acknowledging the altruistic work of these young participants in promoting youth participation and in energising their territories together with the FSG teams.
Some FSG participation groups participated in the event, such as the Roma Participation Group, the Roma Women's Group and the Volunteer Body. They worked on group cohesion and generated synergies between new members and young people who have been part of the youth network for many years. In addition, they worked on gender equality values and on the reinforcement of commitment as facilitators for the promotion of participation. They also followed a brief introduction about the "European Year of Youth", a crucial topic this year.
These sessions have provided the basis for the work in the next sessions with the Network of Participation Facilitators, which will take place in June, and we hope that the circumstances will finally allow us to meet again in person and get away from the screens.
These activities are organised within the framework of the National programme for the promotion of the Participation of Roma Citizens, financed by the National Programmes of Activities of General Interest considered to be of Social Interest, belonging to the Secretary of State for Social Rights.
