This award is implemented by Roma Active Albania and funded by the Directorate General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations DG NEAR. It highlights the importance of Roma integration in the EU Enlargement process and shows the EU's determination and commitment to improving the social inclusion of Roma people.

The 2021 edition of these awards invited nominations and self-application for “Initiatives that have contributed to sustainable employment of Roma in the region”. Among the winners are CSO, public institution private business and individuals from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey.

During two days of work, the Western Balkans and Turkey delegation came to know first hand the diverse programmes through which FSG contributes for almost 40 years now to the improvement of the lives of Roma people and the defence of their rights in Spain and Europe. A large part of the visit focused on the programme Acceder, for the employment of Roma people, but they could also know the Promociona programme for the educative success of Roma students, the Calí programme for the promotion of equal treatment and the socio-labour integration of Roma women and to tackle the multiple discrimination, as well as the campaigns developed by the FSG and its actions to influence the political agenda in order to defend the rights of Roma people. Besides, they could attend the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Acceder programme, where an External Impact Evaluation was presented, which endorses the scope of the initiative.
