Learning By Doing recognised as inspiring practice by European network StartNet Europe

This publication contains 11 examples of successful practices, from career guidance to vocational training and work-based learning, that illustrates the diversity of solutions aimed at supporting and empowering young people on their path to employment.

These solutions are as diverse as young people´s realities but share a common success factor: they are all part of a broader strategy around which various stakeholders communicate and cooperate and as a result, the different targeted actions complement and reinforce each other, enabling young people to understand and easily access the information and services they need.

One of the practices included in this publication is Fundación Secretariado Gitano´s programme, Learning by Doing, a mixed model of training and employment, run in collaboration with companies, that is aimed at disadvantaged young Roma under 30 who are not in work or education. With a 40% employment rate this programme shows that Roma youth unemployment can be beaten. Learn more about our programme.
