The Plenary of the Assembly of Madrid has approved in its session of July 10th the senators chosen by autonomic designation from the different Political Parties.

Among them-on behalf of Ciudadanos Political Party-is Carla Santiago Camacho, who has been become the first Roma Senator in the history of Spain.

Carlota Santiago Camacho has a long professional background through different social entities in Madrid such as the Romí Sersení Association, the Fanal Association, the Barrada Association or Artemisa Net Federation of which she is president and, among them, also at the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, where in 1999 she was part of the first intercultural mediators promotion EMFORMA and, since 2018, she is member of its Board of Trustees.

In May 2019, Carla was elected as Deputy of the Assembly of Madrid and now also she become as member of the Spanish Senate.
