23 companies participate in a Business Breakfast meeting organized by Fundación Secretariado Gitano

23 companies that collaborate with Fundación Secretariado Gitano within the framework of the Acceder programme were represented by their Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility departments at the Business Breakfast we organized this morning at our headquarters in Madrid.

The objective of this meeting was to share experiences and delve into new forms of collaboration.

Achieving the full labour market inclusion of Roma people is one of the key goals of the FSG. To this end, it is essential to strengthen collaboration with the economic operators, achieve quality training environments, and respond to new needs of the companies in the field of technology and innovation.

In 2017, a total of 16,831 people took part our main employment programme Acceder, of which, 3,422 found a job.

Acceder is a programme designed to promote the social and labour inclusion of Roma people. The programme takes an individualised, integrated and multidimensional approach that takes into consideration the family and community surrounding the persons that participate. And it also deals with the labour market, identifying job oppourtunities and establishing relevant alliances with companies.

Between 2000 and 2018, Fundación Secretariado Gitano has assisted almost 100,000 people in their access to employment and nearly 28,000 of them have found a job. This results have been possible thanks to the alliances established with 1,726 companies from different secotors of activity (including, retail, food, services, hospitality and others).

The professionalism, rigor, quality and transparency of Fundación Secretariado Gitano, are some of the aspects most valued by companies. The motivation and enthusiasm that young Roma bring to the job, the most valued aspects of the participants in Acceder.

During the meeting we heard the testimonies of participants in the Acceder programme as well as those of forefront companies that collaborate with the programme, such as Cortefiel group, one of the main European companies of the fashion sector; Feuvert, leading company in the maintenance of the Automobile; Nails Factory, company number 1 in the care of hands and feet and Grupo VIPS, well-known chain of international food restaurants.

At the end of the meeting some of the companies have wanted to invite others to take part this type of initiatives and have highlighted the benefits of taking part in the  Acceder programme, for their companies as well as for their staff members.
