FSG International
Hungarian MEP, Mr. Benedekt Javor, member of the ARDI Intergroup, and Mr. Alfiaz Vaiya, the intergroup coordinator, visited the headquarters of FSG in Madrid to learn about our programmes, our philosophy and our work in the field.
The representatives of ARDI expressed their interest in the services we offer to victims of discriminatory and racist treatment (Victims of Racial or Ethnic Discrimination Support Service). During their visit, they also met the Calí programme team, who were Madrid for a training session.
Mr Javor declared he was pleasantly surprised by the impact of FSG´s programmes on Roma participants.
After the visit, both representatives attended the 2017 FSG award ceremony to accept one of the awards on behalf of the Anti-racism and diversity Intergroup. This EP´s Intergroup received an FSG award in the category “Solidarity with G” in recognition for the commitment of its members to addressing the specific form of racism people of Romani origin experience, as well as their role in increasing the involvement of the European Parliament in the fight for equality and against discrimination and social exclusion of the Roma population in Europe. The Intergroup´s commitment was reaffirmed by Mr Javor in his acceptance speech.
