EDYTA: The new project that contributes to the empowerment of Roma women through education and ICT

Through this new pilot project, women at risk of vulnerability and social exclusion are trained in the use of ICT. The main aim of this initiative is to improve the digital skills of Roma women, increasing their opportunities to access the labour market.

EDYTA is spread in two strategic lines of action. Fostering Roma women´s employability by increasing their knowledge in ICT is the first scope of intervention of this project. Second, EDYTA pretends to train the FSG´s professionals in digital competences, in order to introduce ICT in the daily work of the Foundation. With the financial support of the Orange Foundation, this pilot project will be held in four Spanish cities between 2017 and 2018.

Fostering the gender equality and the employability of Roma women are the main goals behind EDYTA. Innovation and ICT are the core values that lead the action of FSG in achieving their aims.

Thereby, this project shows the commitment of FSG with the innovation and the use of ICT, in compliance with the Europe 2020 Strategy goals. In today´s world, where technology is present at our entire life-spheres, the acquisition of digital skills remains crucial to break away from inequality. In accordance with the Europe 2020 Strategy, through EDYTA FSG demonstrates its engagement in bridging the digital gap to fight inequality.
