The Fundación Secretariado Gitano´s report “2017 Roma Community and Discrimination” gathers 202 discrimination cases, in addition of advancements, good practices and jurisprudence.

The 2017 report places the central issue on the need of a Comprehensive Law on Equality of Treatment and Non-Discrimination. For this purpose, it includes contributions from political parties, as well as NGOs, with the aim of initiating public debate on this proposal and promoting the approval of this initiative in Congress.

The demand for a comprehensive Law on Equality of Treatment and Non-Discrimination responds to the need to improve the current legal system to adequately protect all victims in various situations of discrimination. This Act seeks to provide better protection to victims and to have a more complete and effective sanctioning system.
