On 2 December 2015 we will meet at the Círculo de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Centre) in Madrid to celebrate 15 years of 'Acceder', our flagship programme. 15 years of impact from this transforming programme. A programme funded by the European Social Fund under the Multi-Regional Operational Programme (OP) to Combat Discrimination which, despite specifically targeting one of the most vulnerable groups furthest from the labour market, has been a smashing success.

At this event we want to underscore precisely that, the impact that Acceder has had in improving the situation of the Roma community and the important contribution made by businesses and government administrations in this change.

This will be an opportunity to take stock of our 15-year history, its milestone and achievements, and to discuss the key role played by public-private partnership in these results, the international dimension of Acceder, the role of European institutions and the alliances and initiatives generated. We will learn a little bit more about Acceder and Promociona and will be able to speak with Roma beneficiaries who will talk about their experience. We will hear from businesses and address the issues of equal opportunity, the innovative initiatives implemented during these 15 years... a long list of topics that have contributed to improving the situation of the Roma community.

This will also be an opportunity to give an account of our accomplishments and thank the many businesses, private funding institutions, social organisations and public administrations for their support and faith in our work over these last 15 years.

We are looking forward to sharing this day with the professionals who have been working at the Fundación Secretariado Gitano during these years as well as those who have been beneficiaries of our activities;

With the representatives of the collaborating businesses and the public administrations at local, regional and national level that have supported Acceder.

With our colleagues from the social organisations we have worked with that strive to help those who find themselves in a vulnerable situation to access training, employment, education and improve their standard of living.
