The Platform for the Police Diversity Management, where FSG participates as Technical Secretariat, celebrates the III International Seminar on Police Diversity Management on 12th and 13rd November at Hotel Auditorium in Madrid.
The III seminar will address crucial topics for police forces as preventing Islamophobia, aporofobia and other discriminatory attitudes, attention for hate crimes, public security law, refugees welcoming, social networks or the role of the political parties in the management of social diversity. This is a seminar for police forces and social workers, psychologists, sociologists, intercultural mediators and social volunteers with the interest in improving the management of social diversity by the Police Services and Administrations with jurisdiction on Public security.
At the political parties round table will take part representatives of PP,PSOE, Podemos and Izquierda Unida. (See attached the program).
Besides, this III seminar will have international scope with representatives of the police forces from Norway, Netherlands, Italy and UK and the Head of the special representative of the Council of Europe General Secretary for Roma affairs. He will be in charge of opening the seminar.
During the seminar will be the delivery of IV Acknowledgements "Daniel Wagman" to the Police Diversity Management, awarded by the Platform for Police Management of Diversity.
The closing ceremony, presented by Ms. Laura Espejo of the organisation "Plena Inclusion", will be chaired by Ms. Manuela Carmena, Mayor of Madrid, and also will have the presence of D. Alberto Edroso, member of the National Board of Unijepol. Ms. Inés Diez, on behalf of the Platform for Police Management of Diversity (Red Acoge) and Mrs. Nuria Marin, Mayor of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and President of the Spanish Forum for Prevention and Urban Safety.
During those days, simultaneously with the seminar, also at the Hotel Auditorium, will take place "SeguCITY", the IV National Meeting of Heads of Local Security organized by Unijepol (Union of Heads of Local Police of Spain). It will bring together heads commanders of the local police in Spain, politicians, technical staff and management of local security. The main objectives of the event are the debate on the most relevant issues for local security and disseminate the most innovative experiences and good practices developed by police forces.
The III seminar on management of police diversity and the IV National Meeting of Heads of Local Security share common sessions of the programs.
The activities of the platform for 2015 and 2016 are financed by an Open Society Foundations grant. The seminar has been co financed by the Council of Europe.
