The Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG), in accordance with its mission and values, always believed that the promotion of the Roma community, due to its own cultural identity and the similarity of the issues that affect it, should not focus exclusively on state policy; rather, it must engage in collaborative practices so that the totality of the more than 8 million European Roma women and men achieve full citizenship rights like other European citizens. To achieve this aim, the FSG engages in four geographical fields of action:

This field comprises two lines of action:
At the same time, the FSG maintains a constant presence in and collaboration with the distinct departments and entities of the European area in order to make sure that Roma issues are taken into account in all initiatives.
Our organisation is developing three lines of work in this field:
In this field, we also intend to influence the policies that affect the Roma community. We therefore collaborate with and monitor different types of actions (Plans of Inclusion, training and employment issues, health, consultative committees).

We believe that actions aimed at the Roma community must be implemented within a concrete geographical setting, close to its members. For this reason, the FSG's direct intervention programmes form part of this field of action, in which the working teams and actions, through strategic plans and programmes that are aimed at having a territorial basis, reach Roma men and women directly.
The FSG, which considers this field of action as very important, has a Territorial Officer in each of Spain's 14 Autonomous Communities in which we work.
If one fundamental axis of our work structure is the geographical setting, the second and no less important axis is the organisation of programmes and activities in accordance with fundamental lines or Areas of Work. This work structure allows us to share our experience and specialisation in each of these areas.
This structure consists in three fundamental blocs:
Each Department is managed by one Officer, who coordinates its internal work; concurrently, each work area is managed by one Officer.
