Awareness-raising campaigns[editar]

Fundación Secretariado Gitano develops awareness raising campaigns aiming to influence the Roma population and the majoritary society.

The Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) bets on social awareness as a crucial tool to promote Roma inclusion. As part of this line of work, it undertakes large-scale information and awareness-raising campaigns related to the Foundation’s areas of work. Campaigns aim at building a fairer and more real image of the Roma community, showing positive examples and referents, and at influencing on crucial aspects for Roma inclusion, such as employment or education. The final goal of these campaigns is to contribute to guarantee once for all the equal treatment and equal opportunities of the Roma community.

To this end, information and awareness-raising campaigns target the Roma community, society at large and other relevant stakeholders.

These campaigns start with a phase of planning, research and testing, which is followed by the actual implementation and in some cases by an evaluation/impact assessment phase.

They involve actions such as open-air activities, events and public relations as well as tools such as graphics (posters), television and radio spots, supporting material, websites, brochures, merchandising elements.

The FSG works with specialised agencies in the areas of marketing, publicity and public relations such as Salvetti & Lombart, GFK Emer, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis, Contrapunto BBDO, Ogilvy, DDB, Implícate. It is part of the FSG strategy to work with the best agencies in order to have high quality outcomes. By doing so, quality and Roma issues start to be related and also contribute to breaking down stereotypes.
